Aug. 1, 2017

In our final freshman spotlight we introduce you to The Colony, Texas native Lexi Montgomery.

Montgomery has had a standout gymnastics career winning state, regional and junior Olympic championships. She was a Texas state champion and a regional champion on both beam and all-around. In 2016 she won the Junior Olympic championship on beam which is her favorite sports memory so far.

Montgomery went to the same club gym as Minnesota sophomore Paige Williams. When not doing gymnastics she enjoys hanging out on the lake, going on adventures and spending time with her family.

Meet Lexi Montgomery

Gopher Sports: How is your time on campus so far?

Lexi Montgomery: It has been very enjoyable and I am loving the scenery.

GS: What are you most looking forward to in your first school year and season?

LM: I look forward to competing with my team and settling into my classes.

GS: What has it been like to meet your teammates? Who is the funniest teammate so far?
