Future Gophers Impress at Regional Championships

The Gophers were well represented at the JO Regional Championships this past weekend with four of their incoming student-athletes in competition.

Abbie Nylin and Ali Sonier competed in Region 4, Kaitlyn Higgins in Region 5 and Carson Cronin in Region 6. Tiarre Sales is also an incoming Gopher but did not compete due to injury.

The four who competed combined for 14 top-five finishes and 11 podium finishes.

Cronin took top-five in both vault and floor.

Nylin took four first place finishes: bars, beam, floor and all-around.

Sonier took second on vault and beam and third in the all-around.

Higgins took home an all-around title along with a beam and floor title. She also took second on bars and fourth on vault.

Higgins, Sonier and Nylin all qualified for the JO National Championships which will be held in Cincinnati on May 11-12.
