Lu on the Loose
Lu has been featured on KSTP, Fox 9 and Minnesota on BTN this week after her performance at the GymQuarters Invitational.
Lu’s 10 was just the second in Gopher history on beam. Hanna Nordquist also notched a 10.000 at the Big Ten Qualifier on March 12, 2016. Lu is No. 1 in the entire country on bars after posting back-to-back 9.975s, also a school record. Before this season only two Gophers ever had scored a 9.975 on bars and now Lu has done it two weeks in a row.

More Gopher Tidbits
After starting the season unranked the Gophers are now No. 19 in the country. They are averaging a 195.708 this season and have a season high of 196.375. They are ranked No. 15 on bars with a 49.017 average and are No. 17 on beam with a 48.950.
Freshman Lexy Ramler ripped off five straight all-around titles to start the season. She took second last week. She has won four Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors and three B1G Gymnast of the Week plaudits. She is second in the B1G and No. 18 in the NCAA in the all-around with a 39.358 average.
There is more than one freshman tearing it up for the Gopers. Loper is quietly making a dynamic impact as well leading the team on both vault and floor. Lexi Montgomery entered the lineup on three events - vault, bars and beam - last week.
Hannah Hitchcock has been a steady presence in the Gophers vault and bars lineups. She has notched 9.850 on both events this season. Fellow senior Rachel Rowland hit a career high 9.825 on bars last week.
This season's theme is love the battle. The Gophers want fans to see the year-round work that goes into gymnastics. We have shared and will continue to look at those stories throughout the season.
