MINNEAPOLIS -- Minnesota's women's gymnastics team remained just outside the Top 10 in the most recent GymInfo Top 25 Rankings, which are based on teams' average scores, jumping two spots to No. 11 after its win against Illinois.
The Gophers (9-0, 4-0 Big Ten) were ranked No. 23 in the preseason poll, but debuted at No. 11 in the first regular season poll on Jan. 14, were ranked 12th on Jan. 21, moved up to 10th on Jan. 28, and were tied for 13th last week.
Minnesota remains one of five Big Ten programs ranked in the Top 25. Michigan tops the list at No. 3, while defending champion Nebraska is eighth, Minnesota is No. 11, Ohio State is 19th, and Illinois is 21st.
The Gophers welcome Gustavus, Hamline and Winona State to the Sports Pavilion for the annual Best of Minnesota meet on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. CT. It will be Student Night, with 50 free t-shirts given away to students in attendance, and Special Olympics Night.
