Minnesota’s other nominees for weekly honors this week were Covers for Gymnast of the Week and Schermann for Event Specialist of the Week. Nebraska’s Emily Wong was named Gymnast of the Week, while Michigan’s Reema Zakharia and Ohio State’s Sarah Miller shared Event Specialist of the Week.
Covers recorded career-high totals on all four events to earn a second-place finish in the all-around at Penn State. Covers tied her career-high with a 9.875 to finish second on vault, tied for third on floor with a 9.850, and had an all-around total of 39.250 to take second behind Mable.
