2013 Season:
Named to 2013 All-Championship Team• Academic All-Big Ten team• Competed in all 14 meets for the season • Led team on bars at Big Ten Championships posting career-high score of 9.900• Saw season high on vault against Iowa • Against Michigan, Central Michigan and Iowa State (1/26) recorded a career high on floor• Against Illinois (9.900) finished with new career best score of 9.900 on uneven bars • At Big Ten Championships tied for second on uneven bars• Finished tied for 24th on bars (9.800) at the NCAA Semifinals.

2012 Season:
Was named Academic All-Big Ten • claimed three first places on floor exercise and two on uneven bars • posted the highest team average on floor • began the season competing only on bars five of the first six meet, due to a foot injury • tied for first on bars in the first meet of the season against Ohio State with a 9.800 (1/7) • again tied for first on bars against Penn State (1/28) with a 9.800 on bars • equaled a career-high 9.900 on floor and tied for first against Nebraska (2/18) • notched a season best on bars with a 9.875 and tied for first on floor with a 9.875 at Iowa (2/24) • tallied a 9.900 on floor, which matched her career-high, tied for first and helped the Gophers mark a team-high score floor score of 49.325 against Iowa State (3/10) • scored a 9.850 on bars to help Minnesota reach their season-high score of 49.075 on the apparatus • finished the season by scoring a 9.800 or better in six of the final eight meets • notched a 9.875 or higher in six of the final nine meets of the year • received her third letter.

2011 Season:
Was named Academic All-Big Ten • Won two event titles, one on uneven bars and the other in the floor exercise • Competed on bars and floor in all meets this season and averaged 9.788 and 9.777 on the respective events • Had a season-high of 9.800 on vault and 9.450 on beam • Scored 9.475 on vault and 9.750 on floor in the meet against Ohio State on Jan. 8 • Earned a 9.800 on uneven bars against Iowa on Jan. 15 • Also earned 9.725 on floor against the Hawkeyes • Tied for the win on floor at Michigan State with a score of 9.800 • In addition, she posted scores of 9.700 on bars and 9.450 on beam to help the team walk away with the win against Michigan State • On Jan. 29 against Air Force, earned scores of 9.675 on vault, 9.775 on bars, and a 9.850 on floor to tie for second place in the event • Posted scores of 9.375 on vault, 9.750 on bars, and 9.525 on floor at Illinois on Feb. 5 • Set career-highs in two of three events at the Best of Minnesota meet on Feb. 12 by scoring 9.800 for a shared third-place vault and a third-place 9.825 for bars, all while earning a 9.825 on floor to take second • Tallied scores of 9.700 on vault and 9.775 on bars and floor against Iowa State at home on Feb. 20 • Earned marks of 9.550 on vault, 9.825 on bars to tie for first, and 9.775 on floor to tie for third, at Cal State Fullerton on Feb. 25 • Scored a season-high of 9.875 on floor against UCLA on Feb. 27 where she also tallied scores of 9.450 and 9.825 on vault and bars • At Iowa State on Mar. 4, she earned 9.450 on vault, 9.775 on bars, and 9.750 on floor • Posted scores of 9.550, 9.800, and 9.850 (tying for third) on vault, bars, and floor, respectively, when the Gophers hosted NC State on Mar. 12 • Set a career-best and earned a third-place on bars at the Big Ten Championships on Mar. 19 with a score of 9.850, while scoring 9.700 on vault and 9.825 on floor • Competed in the NCAA Regional Meet in Ann Arbor, Mich. on Apr. 2 where she earned marks of 9.675 on vault, 9.475 on bars, and 9.875 on floor • Tied for the third-highest floor exercise score on the team with 9.875 and also tied in fourth on the team in the uneven bars event with her Big Ten score of 9.850 • Finished the season ranked among the Big Ten Conference as No. 16 on floor, No. 16 on uneven bars, and No. 42 on vault • Nationally, Janell ranked No. 97 on floor exercise, No. 96 on uneven bars, and No. 329 on vault.

2010 Season:

The only freshman on the team to have competed in all four events this season • Competed on floor in 13 of 14 meets, earning her best score of 9.900 in the season opener • Minnesota's top scorer on floor in two meets • Tallied an average of 9.648 on floor • Vaulted in seven meets, earning her best score of 9.650 in the season opener • Was in the bars line up at eight competitions, earning her top score of 9.800 at Iowa • A letterwinner.

High School/Club:

A 2009 graduate of Germantown High School • Trained at LaFleur's Academy of Gymnastics under coaches Greg LaFleur and Tammy Donahue • Qualified for the Junior Olympic Level 10 National Championship five times • In her junior season (2008), she was the all around champion at the Wisconsin state meet, and went on to win titles on bars and vault at the regional meet • In addition to her two event titles at regionals, she also finished second in the all around and fourth on beam • She finished 12th on bars and 14th on floor at the 2008 J.O. National Championship • As a sophomore in 2007, she was the state all around champion, and made a clean sweep of all the events at the regional meet, winning titles on vault, bars, beam, floor and the all around • Other highlights of her career include finishing 12th on bars at the 2003 J.O. National Championship, and placing ninth on both bars and floor at the 2005 national meet • Won the state all around title four times (2003, 2005, 2007, 2008).


Plans to major in either pre-med or education • A three-year Honor Roll Member • A National Honor Society member, a Spanish National Honor Society member, and a student council executive member • The daughter of Robert and Julienne Campbell.

I can moon walk - but not as well as my little sister!

My bath tub, with lots of candles and bubbles.
