NCAA Regionals on Apr. 2 • Owned the top score on the team in both uneven bars (9.900) and balance beam (9.925); the latter ranks sixth in school history on the all-time top scores list • Shared all other team high scores on uneven bars with teammate Lucy Ennis • Ended the season ranked at No. 8 in the Big Ten Conference on uneven bars and ranked No. 43 on beam • Nationally, she came in at No. 50 on uneven bars and No. 296 on beam.

2010 Season:

Competed on bars in 14 meets, earning her season-best score of 9.90 at Iowa where she won the bars title • Compiled a bars average of 9.737 • Minnesota's top scorer on bars at three meets • A beam competitor at 12 of 14 meets, earning four scores of 9.90 • Has an average beam score of 9.731, second best on the team • Minnesota's top beam performer in eights meets this season, including the Big Ten Championship where she was the beam runner up • Missed competing at the NCAA Regional Championship due to illness • A letterwinner.

2009 Season:

Owned the team's top bars score, with a career-best 9.925 vs. Iowa (3/14) • Tied for sixth on Minnesota's all-time top performers list on bars • Her bars score counted toward the team score at every meet in 2009 • Minnesota's top scorer on bars at six meets • Owns five event titles on bars in the 2009 season • Tied with Alexis Russell for the team's best season-average score on bars (9.835) • Won first place in her first beam performance this season with a 9.875 against Iowa State (2/7) • Tied for first place on beam against Iowa (3/14), tying her career best with a 9.875.

2008 Season:

A regular competitor on both vault and bars in her first season • Performed on bars in all 14 meets of the season, and vaulted in 12 meets • Tied with Carmelina Carabajal for the team's best bars score of the season with a 9.875, which she earned in the meet against Illinois-Chicago (2/23) • Was the team's top scorer on bars at five meets • Won three bars titles • Has the team's second-highest average bars score with a 9.689 • Earned her best vault score at the Best of Minnesota meet (2/9) with a 9.650 • Had an average score of 9.544 on vault.

High School/Club:

Competed with SCATS Diamond Elite Gymnastics under coaches Trent and Jill Spaulding • Competed at the Junior Olympic Level 9 Regional Championship in 2002, where she finished fifth on the bars and eighth in the all around • Finished fifth on the bars at the Western National Championships in 2002 • In 2003 and 2004, was only able to compete on bars and beam due to injuries • In 2005, she competed at the Southern California State Championships at level 10, where she was the runner up on floor and the all around, and finished third on the bars • As a junior, she was the state champion at level 10 on the bars and beam, and placed fourth in the all around • Went on to win the beam title at the 2006 J.O. Regional Championship, where she also finished fourth on bars and sixth in the all around • Qualified for the 2006 J.O. National Championship, and was the national runner up on bars • at the 2007 J.O. National Championship, she earned four top-10 finishes highlighted by her fourth-place showing in the all around with a mark of 38.175. • In addition to her top-four finish in the all around, she also finished third on bars (9.65), eighth on floor (9.65), and tied for 10th place on beam (9.375) • With her all around finish, she has earned a spot on the Junior Olympic National Team.


Was on the honor roll throughout her high school career, and was a National Honor Society member • Earned the Presidents Award in 2004, and won the Foreign Language Department Award and the President's Scholar Award in 2005 • In 2006, she was included in Who's Who Among American High School Students • has worked as a coach for gymnasts ages 3-6 at SCATS Diamond Elite • Plans to major in sports management • Daughter of Vance and Berta Furukawa • Has a younger sister, Staycee.
