2012 Season:
Sat out the first 10 meets, due to a torn Achilles • made her 2012 debut at home against Iowa State (3/10) and scored a 9.700 on bars • posted a season-high 9.725 on uneven bars while also helping the Gophers notch a team-high score of 49.075 on the event • received her second letter.


2011 Season:

After sitting out most of the season due to an achilles injury, she made her Golden Gopher debut at Iowa State on Mar. 4 where she earned a score of 9.725 on uneven bars • Competed on vault and uneven bars against NC State on Mar. 12 to post career-high scores of 9.750 on both events • At the Big Ten Championships on Mar. 19, she tallied scores of 9.625 on vault and 9.125 on uneven bars • Competed for the Gophers on two events at the NCAA Regional Meet in Ann Arbor, Mich. on Apr. 2 and tallied scores of 9.725 on vault and 8.750 on uneven bars.


At Texas Woman's University • 2009-10:

Did not compete for the TWU gymnastics team.


Club:

Trained at Denton Gymnastics Academy • Qualified for the 2010 Junior Olympic National Championship • Competed in the Senior B division, where she finished 31st in the all around, tied for seventh place on vault, and tied for eighth place on floor • Earlier in the season, she finished first at the Region 3 meet • Was a 2009 Junior Olympic National Invitational Tournament qualifier where she finished sixth in the all around, and was the runner up on vault • Also tied for sixth place on floor and finished sixth on bars • Competed in soccer at Aledo High School • Was a soccer letterwinner and helped her team to a District Championship • Has also competed in hockey, football, and ultimate Frisbee.


Personal:

A 2009 graduate of Aledo High School • Joins the Gophers with sophomore academic standing after completing one year of college at Texas Women's University • Earned a spot on the TWU Dean's List for both fall semester of 2009 and spring 2010 • As a high school student, she ranked No. 6 of 367 students in her class, and was a National Honor Society member • Was a National Merit Commended Student and earned Academic All-State honors from the Texas Association of Soccer Coaches • Is majoring in chemical engineering with a minor in physics • The daughter of David and Vanruenee Cherwink • Has and older brother, Joe.
