Women's Golf Seventh After Day One of Shootout at the Legends

theThe University of Minnesota women's golf team shot a strong round of 306 (+18) to sit at seventh place heading into the final day of the Shootout at the Legends. Minnesota is eight strokes back of the lead held by Missouri and Indiana. The tournament is being played at the par 72, 6,122-yard Legends Golf Course in Franklin, Ind.

Three Golden Gopher golfers are in the top-15 after the opening day. Sophomore Terra Petsinger opened the Shootout with the best round of her collegiate career with a 1-over-par 73 to place her tied for fourth. Katie Jacobson shot a 2-over 74 to tie her for seventh place. Senior Karyn Stordahl opened with a 75 (+3) to sit tied for 13th. Sarah Butler and Anna Haag both are tied for 79th, and Kirstin Whalen is at 88th place.

The Shootout at the Legends will conclude tomorrow.
