The University of Minnesota women's golf team is in 16th place after one round of the Lady Paladin Invitational in Greenville, S.C. The Golden Gophers carded a first round 41-over 329 and trail tournament leader Northwestern by 27 shots. The second round is Saturday at the par 72, 6,103-yard Furman University Golf Course.
The Gophers were led by junior Kelli Berns who fired a 79 and is tied for 35th. Sophmore Sydney Liles is tied for 45th after an 80 on Friday. Freshman Christine Herzog carded a first round 83 and is tied for 63rd. Sophomore Young Na Lee shot an 88 and is tied for 83rd and junior Emily Brand had a 94 and is 90th.
