MINNEAPOLIS -- The University of Minnesota women's golf team ranks 37th among NCAA Division I programs, according to today's Golfstat rankings.
Golfstat coordinates its rankings based on division comparitive wins -- a round-robin and head-to-head comparison of all teams. The Gophers's figure in the latest rankings is 80.449% after finishing third out of 12 teams at the Minnesota Invitational last week at the Minikahda Club in Minneapolis.
The Gophers return to action next Monday with the Windy City Collegiate Classic in Highland Park, Ill. Northmoor Country Club hosts the two-day, 54-hole tournament with some of the top teams in the nation set to compete. Joining the Gophers are USC (2), Oklahoma State (5), Arizona (10), Florida (12), Iowa State (14), Stanford (15), Georgia (17), Louisville (22), Ohio State (24) and Northwestern (33).
Gophers Finish 20th in WGCA GPA Rankings
The Maroon and Gold were recognized for having the 20th best team GPA among all NCAA teams.
Women's Golf Announces 2016-17 Schedule
Minnesota will once again open its season at home, as the Gophers unveiled their schedule for the upcoming 2016-17 season on Tuesday.
