MinnesoThe University of Minnesota women's golf team sits in second place after 36 holes at its host tournament, the Minnesota Invitational, being held this weekend at the Les Bolstad/ University of Minnesota Golf Course. The Gophers fired rounds of 311-309 while the Gophers Gold team is in third place, just four shots back. Montana leads overall with rounds of 307-309. Junior Sophie Stubbs is tied for the lead entering the final round tomorrow.

Stubbs shot rounds of 74 and 77 to hold the lead with Montana's Jasi Archaya. Senior Sarah Butler is in third place after rounds of 75-77. Freshman Suvi Mantyniemi follows in fourth after rounds of 77-76. Senior Lindsay Somrock is tied for fifth with scores of 74 -80.

Other Gophers in the top 20 overall include Young Na Lee in a tie for 10th place (78-78) and Samantha Braschler in a tie for 17th (77-81).

The final round begins at 8:30 a.m. tomorrow morning.
