BAKKEN IN THIRD AFTER TWO ROUNDS AT BIG TEN WOMEN'S GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP

1-over-Junior Katie Bakken is in third place after the first two rounds at the Big Ten women's golf championship in Madison, Wis.

Bakken recorded a 1-over-par 73 in the first round and an even par 72 in the second to finish the first day at 145. Purdue's Stacy Orschell and Kari Damron are tied for first at 141.

Minnesota is in seventh place with a total of 606. Purdue is leading the field at 576, followed by Ohio State at 592 and Michigan State at 595.

Sophomore Megan Stier is tied for 28th place at 153. Freshman Karyn Stordahl is one stroke behind at 154 and freshman Kirstin Whalen at 155. Sophomore Cindy Cannon is at 158 and junior Jenny Bruun is at 170.

The third round will begin Saturday at 9 a.m. and the final round will begin Sunday at 8 a.m.
