rouThe University of Minnesota women's golf team finished in sixth place in the Lady Buckeye Invitational in Columbus, Ohio completed on Sunday. The Golden Gophers tallied a score of 315 in the third round to finish with 955. No. 16 Ohio State cruised to the team title, posting a score of 907, 22 strokes ahead of second- place Purdue's total of 929.

Senior Donna Boom paced the Gophers placing ninth with rounds of 78, 77 and 78 for 233. Purdue's Angela Blythe shot a 1-over 73 in the final round for 220, edging Ohio State's Amber Amstutz by one stroke.

Other Gopher finishes were Melanie Lepp, tied for 24th at 239 (81-81-77), Katie Bakken, tied for 31st at 242 (84-79-79), Michelle Ballou, tied for 45th at 246 (83- 82-81), Cindy Cannon, tied for 45th at 246 (82-83-81) and Kristi Weichert, 49th at 247 (81-81-85).
