Gophers Head to Columbus for Lady Buckeye Invite Minnesota will play in the 31st annual Lady Buckeye Invitational at the University Golf club this weekend.
Overview: The University of Minnesota women's golf team will compete in its final tournament of the regular season this weekend, as it heads to Columbus to partake in the Lady Buckeye Invitational. Hosted by Ohio State University, the 31st annual event will be played on Sat. April 16 and Sun. April 17 at the Scarlet Course on The University Golf Club.
Joining the Gophers in the event field will be 11 other schools, as all Big Ten schools are competing with the exception of Michigan. Kent State, Xavier, and Iowa State comprise the list the teams participating from outside of the conference. The host Buckeyes will be looking to defend last year's championship at the par 72, 6,275 yard course.
Ten of the 12 participating teams are currently ranked in the top 100 nationally according to Golf Week , six of which hold top 50 spots. In 16th, Iowa State is the top ranked team in the field. The tournament will begin with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start on both days, as the first two rounds will be played on Saturday and the final round on Sunday.

The Gophers: The Minnesota lineup will feature Teresa Puga , Mary Narzisi , Michele Edlin , Samantha Sommers , Jackie Shepherd , and Banchalee Theinthong .
Last Time Out: The Gophers were tied for the lead heading into the final round of the Cougar Classic at Pinehurst No. 6 but finished runner-up to host and champion College of Charlestown. Mary Narzisi led Minnesota with a career best second place finish at the 14 team tournament.
Up Next: Minnesota will compete in the Big Ten Championships in Chicago, Ill. from April 22-24.
