BloomingtThe University of Minnesota women's golf team fired a final round 300, a 34 shot improvement on its first round score, to move up nine spots and finish third at the Indiana Invitational in Bloomington, Ind. The tournament was shortened to two rounds due to wet course conditions at the par 72, 6,142- yard IU Golf Course.

Individually, the Gophers had two golfers tie for 11th. Sophomore Samantha Braschler fired the low round of the day and a career low round 2-under 70 to move up 62 spots after round one to finish at 13-over 157. Junior Terra Petsinger also tied for 11th after a 77 Sunday. Sophomore Sophie Stubbs also carded a 77 in round two and tied for 21st at 16-over 160. Junior Jessica Thomas matched her season-low round of 76 and moved up 36 spots into a tie for 37th at 163. Freshman Emily Brand shot her second consecutive 84 and tied for 65th.

Minnesota is back in action next weekend at the Purdue Invitational
