CoUniversity of Minnesota women's golfer Terra Petsinger was named Big Ten Golfer of the Week today by the Conference office. The senior from Arvilla, N.D., carded a 75 to tie two other competitors for medalist honors in last weekend's rain-shortened NIU Snowbird Intercollegiate. Petsinger's round of 3-over-par helped the Golden Gophers to a second- place finish at 309, just four strokes shy of Yale.
This is Petsinger’s first Golfer of the Week selection of her career. She is the first Golden Gopher to be honored with the weekly accolade since Katie Bakken claimed the award on March 22, 2000.
Minnesota continues its spring schedule on Apr. 2-3 at the Purdue Invitational in West Lafayette, Ind. The Gophers compete in the Big Ten Championships in Ann Arbor, Mich., on May 5-7.
