The University of Minnesota women's golf team carded rounds of 316-318-634 (+58) yesterday to sit in seventh place in the 17-team field at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational in Kaneohe, Hawaii. The Golden Gophers trail sixth-place Nebraska by six shots. Southern California leads the 54-hole tournament after firing a two-round total of 595 to lead Arizona by eight shots. The tournament is being held at the par 72, 5,829-yard Kaneohe Klipper Golf Club.

Sophomore Terra Petsinger (Arvilla, N.D./Larimore) leads the way for Minnesota in a tie for 17th place. She fired rounds of 80-74-154. Senior Karyn Stordahl (Owatonna, Minn./Owatonna) is in 24th place (78-79-157) while senior Kirstin Whalen (Elk River, Minn./Elk River) is in 32nd place (79-80-159). Rounding out the scoring for Minnesota are freshman Sarah Butler (Roseau, Minn./Roseau) in a tie for 48th place (79-86-165) and junior Katie Jacobson (Grand Forks, N.D./Montana) in a tie for 69th (86-85-171).

The final round begins this afternoon at 12:30 p.m. CST.
