The University of Minnesota women’s golf team carded a 46-over 334 in the second round of the Lady Gamecock Classic in Blythewood, S.C. The Gophers’ remain 12th out of 12 teams with a two-day total of 95- over par. There is no change at the top of the standings as No. 13 New Mexico continues to lead with a 621, followed by No. 14 LSU (625) and then host South Carolina (628).
Playing in windy conditions yet again, no one in the field finished with a score under par. Sophomore Samantha Braschler moved up into a tie for 24th at 18-over 161 after firing a team-best 78 in round two. Senior Terra Petsinger also advanced up the standings into a tie for 29th at 162 after carding a 79 on Saturday. Sophomore Sophie Stubbs slipped into a tie for 47th at 167 after an 87 in round two. Junior Jessica Thomas holds 64th at 182 and Freshman Emily Brand is 65th with 187.
Final round action begins at 9 a.m. tomorrow on the par 72, 5996- yard University Club Golf Course.
