The women’s golf team will travel to the desert this Friday to take part in the second Annual Clover Cup March 8-10. The tournament is hosted by Notre Dame and will take place at the Longbow Golf Club in Mesa, Ariz.
The Gophers are coming off of a solid finish in Florida last weekend after taking 10th place at the Central District Invitational. The Gophers had consistent scores all-around with four of the five women finishing within seven strokes of each other. Senior Jackie Shepherd had her best performance of the spring season and moved up 15 spots during play on the last day. Shepherd’s 229 total score tied her lowest score from the fall season. Sophomores Carmen Laguna and Anna Laorr continue to show poise and consistency by finishing with scores of 228 and 230, respectively.
The 54-hole tournament will consist of three rounds from Friday, March 8 to Sunday, March 10. Play will begin at 10:00 a.m. CT on Friday and continue at 10:00 a.m. CT on Saturday. Sunday’s final round is scheduled to begin with a 10:30 a.m. CT shotgun start.

The Field: Eighteen teams will take part in the tournament, including eight that are ranked in the top 50 in the country.

The Course: Longbow Golf Club is a par 72 course that plays at 6,209 yards.
Gopher Lineup: Shepherd, Laguna, and Laorr will be joined by junior Banchalee Theinthong and sophomore Sarinee Thitiratanakorn. Redshirt sophomore Taylor Quinn will be playing the tournament as an individual.
Up Next: The Gophers will go back to work next week at the BYU Entrada Classic in St. George, Utah March 18-19.
