Entering the day four shots off the lead after 18 holes, the Gophers recorded a team total of 295 in the second round of the UCF Challenge on Monday to remain in fifth place. Minnesota is still only nine back of leader Coastal Carolina at 583 heading into Tuesday's final round.

Senior Teresa Puga was the low scorer on the team for the second straight round, finishing Monday with a solid even par 72. With 18 holes to play, she sits in ninth place and seven shots of the lead at -2. Freshman Banchalee Theinthong followed up a 72 on Sunday with a one over-par 73 for 14th, and Mary Narzisi fired a 74 and is in a tie for 18th position.

Samantha Sommers posted a 76 and is tied for 42nd, while Michele Edlin is tied for 83rd in te standings after carding an 80.

South Carolina, Tulane, and Kentucky are the only teams currently ahead of the Gophers in the 17 team tournament.
