The Gopher women's golf team will take a break from the Minnesota cold and travel to Florida to take part in the University of Miami Hurricane Invitational. The 54-hole tournament will take place at the Deering Bay Yacht & Country Club in Coral Gables, Fla. from Monday, Feb. 4 through Tuesday, Feb. 5.
Sophomore Carmen Laguna is coming off her second top five finish after tying for third at the Las Vegas Invitational last fall. Laguna also recorded the second-lowest season average in Gopher history with 73.66. Junior Banchalee Theinthong is coming off her lowest 54-hole score of the fall season after shooting a 54-hole total of 222 in Las Vegas.
Play will begin Monday, Feb. 4 with 36-holes and will conclude on Tuesday, Feb. 5 with a final round of 18 holes.

The course: The invitational will take place at Deering Bay Yacht & Country Club in Coral Gables, Fla. The par 71 layout plays at 6,018 yards.
The Field (golf stat rankings as of Jan. 30): A total of 16 teams will take part in the two day event: Baylor (23), Boston College, Campbell (26), Daytona State, Florida Gulf Coast, Georgetown, Iowa, James Madison, Longwood, Mercer, Miami (71), Middle Tennessee, Minnesota (58), Oklahoma State (11), Oral Roberts, Texas State (48).
