Day 2 - Individual Results Get Acrobat Reader

The Minnesota women’s golf team is in 16th place after two rounds of the Cougar Classic at Yeamans Hall. The Golden Gophers’ team score today was 301, four strokes lower than their first round showing, giving them a total score of 606.

Sophomore Banchalee Theinthong again shot a 74. She is in a seven-way tie for 38th place. Aubrie Nelson recorded a score of 75. Added to her 74 from yesterday, Nelson is tied for 45th place. Jackie Shepherd repeated her score of 77 from the first round and sits at 74th place.

A pair of Minnesota newcomers showed improvement from their debut rounds. Carmen Laguna lowered her score by seven strokes from yesterday, shooting a 75 today. Sarinee Thitiratanakorn posted a 77, three shots better than yesterday’s round. Laguna and Thitiratanakorn are tied for 90th.

The Gophers remain ahead of Penn State (18th) and Wisconsin (20th), the other Big Ten teams in the field. North Carolina (567) leads going into the final round. Erica Popson (135) of Tennessee maintains her lead in the individual competition.

There will be an 8:00 a.m. (CST) shotgun start for the final round on Tuesday.
