Teresa Puga is in her first season as a student assistant following a brilliant playing career at the University of Minnesota.

MILESTONES :
One of the most accomplished golfers in Minnesota history, Puga holds most of the program's records • finished Gopher career with a stroke average of 75.51, the lowest, by nearly two strokes, in the history of the program • her senior season (2010-11) average of 74.34 is also the lowest season average in program history • her 2009-10 season average of 74.97 is the second-lowest in program history • also holds the sixth (76.28 - 2008-09) and 14th ( lowest season averages • holds the first (73.25 - 2010), second (74.07 - 2008) & seveth (75.66 - 2009) lowest fall averages in program history • also holds the first (74.64 - 2010), second (75.13 - 2011), 14th (77.36 - 2008) and 20th (77.78 - 2009) lowest spring averages in team history • appeared in 42 career tournaments at Minnesota.

2010-11 • SENIOR SEASON: Played in all 12 of the team's events on the season, including the NCAA Championships • held the team's lowest stroke average on the season at 74.34 • had eight top-20 and three top-10 finishes on the season, including a tie for 15th finish at the NCAA Championships • captured medalist honors at the UCF Challenge with a career-low 54 hole score of 208 (-8) • posted a team-low fall scoring average of 73.25 • was a two-time winner of Big Ten Golfer of the WeeK (2/17 - 3/30).

2009-10 • JUNIOR SEASON: Played in all 11 tournaments on the season • made first NCAA appearance as part of the NCAA West Regional field, finishing in a tie for 12th with a 54-hole score of 221 • posted a season average of 74.97, the lowest on the team and the lowest season average in the history of Gopher Women's Golf • also established a program low with a spring average of 74.64 • will enter senior campaign with the lowest career average in school history at 76.01 • collected seven top-10 and nine top-20 finishes • best finish on the season came at the Northern Migration Invitational where she tied for third • tied for ninth at the Big Ten Championships, her lowest finish at the conference tournament • twice named the Big Ten Player of the Week (2/24 & 3/24) • named Academic All-Big Ten.

SUMMER 2009 • AMATEUR PLAY: Recorded rounds of 75-78-70-78 at the Spanish Amateur National Championships • participated in the Grand Prix des Landes in Hossegor, France and carded rounds of 76-70-69-69 • carded a 36-hole score of 147 (76-71) in the Interceltique Trophy in La Bretagne, France • participated in the Switzerland International, carding rounds of 70-77-74-69 • fired rounds of 73-70 in the Golden Week Real Club de Golf de La Zapateira.

2008-09 • SOPHOMORE SEASON: One of three Gopher players to see action in all 11 tournaments this season • season average of 76.28 (32 rounds) is the second best in school history • team counted 30 of the 32 rounds • recorded five top-10 finishes and 8 top-20 finishes during the season • averaged 77.78 during the spring schedule, 13th best spring average all-time • best finish of the spring schedule was a tie for third at the Winthrop Intercollegiate (3/22) • played in all five of the team's tournaments during the fall season • paced the team with a 74.07 stroke average in 13 rounds played • scoring average set a new school record for fall scoring by almost a shot • previous record was 75.00 set in 1988 by Kate Hughes • established a career-low round of 70 in the second round of the Badger Invitational • shot a career-low 54 hole score of 218 in the Las Vegas Showdown (10/29) • placed in the top 20 in four of five events and in the top ten in three of five events • best finish of the fall season was a tie for fifth placing in the Lady Northern (10/19) • named Academic All-Big Ten.

SUMMER 2008 • AMATEUR PLAY: Finished 11th at the Spanish National Tournament after rounds of 74-77-71 • took third place at the Grand Prix des Landes Hossegor with four rounds in the 60's: 67-69-68-66.

2007-08 • FRESHMAN SEASON: Joined the team in January of 2008 and did not participate during the fall schedule • played in all seven events during the spring season • led the team with a 77.36 stroke average • scoring average is the seventh-best in school history for a spring season • only Gopher to count all rounds towards the team total (22 for 22) • led the Gophers with three top-10 finishes • shot an 11-over 299 and placed sixth to lead the Gophers to a tie for eighth place at the Big Ten Championships, their highest finish in three seasons • best finish was a tie for second at the Diablo Grande Intercollegiate (3/18) • also finished in a tie for seventh at the Rio Verde Invitational (3/9).

AMATEUR PLAY: Member of the Spanish national team • competed for Spain at the 2007 Nation's Cup • runner-up at the 2007 Spanish International Lady Junior Match Play Championship • placed third at the Hossegor Grand Prix Des Landes (282/+2) • advanced to the Round of 32 of match play at the British Girls Amateur • became the first women to win the Copa de Oro de Galicia (148/+4) • finished 11th at the 2007 Spanish Championshp and third at the 2005 Spanish Championship.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2007 graduate of Blume High School.

PERSONAL: Born April July 17, 1989 • daughter of Eluira Gil and Ursino Puga • will graduate with a degree in Business & Marketing Education.
