Full Lieberman Watch List

Minnesota junior Kenisha Bell has been named to the watch list for the Nancy Lieberman Award. The award, presented by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, recognizes the top point guard in Division I women's basketball.

Bell was a multi-faceted threat for the Golden Gophers last season. On her way to All-Big Ten Honorable Mention, she was second on the team with a scoring average of 16.1 points per game, and led the team with 4.2 assists and 2.2 steals per game.

In her Gophers debut against VCU, Bell scored 24 points and notched eight assists. She tallied six 20-point games and scored in double figures 28 times.

The 20-player Lieberman Award watch list will be narrowed to 10 in February, taking into consideration point guards who may play their way onto the list during the season. In March, Nancy Lieberman and the Hall of Fame selection committee will review the top five candidates. Fan voting will also be available at hoophall.com.

Bell and the Gophers open their 2017-18 campaign Saturday, Nov. 11 at 5 p.m. against Lehigh. Football fans coming to campus for the Nebraska game will receive $5 admission to women's basketball with a football ticket stub from that day.
