The University of Minnesota women's basketball team, in conjunction with the Big Ten Conference, announced its game times and its television schedule for the 2012-13 season Thursday afternoon. The Golden Gophers will have at least seven nationally televised contests broadcast live on the Big Ten Network and will also have one game air live on ESPN2.
The Gophers' first contest to air on BTN will be their ACC/Big Ten Challenge contest vs. Virginia on Nov. 29 at 7:00 p.m., which will be the squad's only non-conference game to air nationally.
In January, Minnesota will have three-straight contests air on BTN, including Jan. 20 vs. Nebraska at 5:00 p.m., Jan. 24 at Penn State at 5:30 p.m. and Jan. 28 vs. Illinois at 8:00 p.m.
The Gophers' home contest vs. Iowa on Feb. 7 and their road game at Illinois on Feb. 10 will also be broadcast live on BTN, before they return home to play host to Purdue live on ESPN2 on Feb. 24 at 12:00 p.m.
Additional contests that could potentially be picked up by BTN during the regular-season would be the Maroon and Gold's Feb. 28 game vs. Purdue and its March 3 contest at Indiana.
Minnesota will also have 11 games steamed live on BTN.com: Nov. 10 vs. Washington State, Nov. 11 vs. South Dakota State or Villanova, Dec. 5 vs. Denver, Dec. 7 vs. UMKC, Dec. 9 vs. Robert Morris, Jan. 3 at Michigan State, Jan. 6 at Wisconsin, Jan. 17 at Purdue, Jan. 31 vs. Michigan, Feb. 3 at Nebraska and Feb. 17 vs. Northwestern.
For the sixth-straight year, every game of the Big Ten Women's Basketball Tournament, which will be held March 7-10 at Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates, Ill., will be televised live to a national audience. The first 10 games of the tournament will appear on BTN, while the championship game will be carried by ESPN2.
The Golden Gophers' first games will be a pair of exhibitions at Williams Arena, with the Maroon and Gold taking on Concordia University, St. Paul on Oct. 31 and Minnesota State University, Mankato on Nov. 4.
