Head coach Pam Borton and the University of Minnesota women's basketball team will join the throngs headed for the "Great Minnesota Get Together" when the squad makes its annual appearance at the Minnesota State Fair tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. at the U of M Building on Don Patch Avenue.
Fans are invited to join the Gophers for a fun-filled morning that will include the players signing autographs and giving away Goldy Gopher basketball temporary tattoos to fans of all ages. Coach Borton will also be eating a signature State-Fair food selected by the fans!
Fans can vote for one of four items - scotch eggs on a stick, bacon ice cream, beef tongue tacos or Spam curds - for Coach Borton try at the State Fair by "liking" Golden Gopher women's basketball on Facebook at facebook.com/GophersWBB and voting in the poll. Voting will be open until 9:00 a.m. tomorrow.
In addition to the team's appearance on Tuesday, selected players will appear at the Fast Break Club's booth on Sunday, Sept. 2. The Fast Break Club is the official booster club of Minnesota women's basketball.
