WNBA Update - Aug. 10
Aug. 10, 2017

Lindsay Whalen and the Minnesota Lynx are the only team to have clinched a playoff berth, with their home games to be played at the Gophers’ Williams Arena. Whalen is currently out with an injury and underwent successful surgery to repair a fracture on her left hand. She most recently scored eight points with four rebounds and three assists in the Aug. 3 win against the Atlanta Dream, the day she suffered the injury.

Rachel Banham’s Connecticut Sun is third in league standings. The former Gophers guard most recently notched two points, two assists and a rebound in a victory against the Seattle Storm. Banham also played in the win against the Phoenix Mercury.

All three Gophers are currently in playoff position, as Amanda Zahui B. and the New York Liberty are in fifth place. Zahui B. scored seven points in 10 minutes against the Los Angeles Sparks last Friday, and also played in Tuesday’s win against the Indiana Fever.
