The Big Ten Conference announced Monday that Minnesota junior Micaëlla Riché was named the Big Ten Women's Basketball Player of the Week. The forward from Gloucester, Ontario averaged a double-double with 20.5 points and 10.0 rebounds per game in victories vs. No. 7 Penn State and Indiana last week.
Riché led the Gophers with 24 points on 9-of-10 shooting from the field in Thursday's victory vs. the Lady Lions, while adding six free throws and five rebounds in 37 minutes of work. She followed with another stellar performance on the road at Indiana, where she posted her fifth-career double-double with 17 points and a career-high 15 rebounds in the win.
It is the second Big Ten Player of the Week honor for Riché, who also earned the distinction on Nov. 12 following the opening week of play.
