The University of Minnesota women's basketball team will honor long-time University of Tennessee head coach Pat Summitt by designating its Jan. 29 matchup against Iowa as "We Back Pat" night.
On the court, both the Gophers and the Hawkeyes will wear special "We Back Pat" shooting shirts during warmups, while off of the court, the first 750 fans through the gate will receive a free "We Back Pat" t-shirt.
Golden Gopher marketing will also raffle off three Minnesota women's basketball team autographed basketballs, with the winners announced at halftime.The purpose of "We Back Pat" night is to encourage support and spread awareness of The Pat Summitt Foundation. Pat and Tyler Summitt founded the Pat Summitt Foundation in August 2011 shortly after Coach Summitt's diagnosis of early onset dementia, Alzheimer's type with the intention to help find a cure for Alzheimer's so that one day no family has to hear that a loved one has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease.

The Jan. 29 contest at the Barn will tip off at 7:00 p.m. and will be streamed live on Gopher All-Access. The game can also be heard live on 1500 ESPN.
