Banham, Buford Earn Top Women's Basketball Honors

The women's basketball team honored numerous players at its annual awards banquet.

Jess Lemanski enters her third season as Minnesota's Director of Video and Technology Operations.

A native of Stewartville, Minn., Lemanski worked as a student manager with the women's basketball program since 2008-09, while also serving as a student worker in the Gophers' athletics equipment room.

As a student manager, she gained valuable experience while filming practices and games using a variety of video equipment. She also helped to set-up for women's basketball, volleyball, and men's basketball events at Williams Arena, and assisted the women's basketball team's Director of Operations and coaching staff with other practice and game day duties.

Lemanski's equipment room responsibilities were to assist in the day-to-day operations, which included handling laundry, and receiving, conducting inventory and issuing athletic gear for the above-mentioned sports.

In addition, Lemanski did a Basketball Operations internship for the Minnesota Lynx in 2010. Among her duties, she broke down game film using XOS Digital, allowing coaches to evaluate players and prepare scouting reports. She also created and edited player clips for use by coaches and on highlight films, and produced copies of game film on DVD.

Lemanski was a Game Operations intern for the Rochester Honkers baseball club in the summer of 2009, and she was a student event staff worker for Minnesota's Event Management office during 2007-09.

In May 2008, Lemanski traveled to Beijing and Shanghai to study the 2008 Olympic Games and the impact of sport on China. There, she met with members of the Beijing Urban Planning Commission and discussed the impact of the Olympics on China.

Lemanski received her bachelor's degree in sport management from the University of Minnesota in December 2010, and she has begun work on a master's degree in applied kinesiology with a sport management focus.
