Unlimited Dance Marathon is a 12-hour dancing event hosted by University of Minnesota students and Gopher student-athletes on the U of M campus. It is the last event of a culmination of year-long fundraising efforts to benefit children and family members of the University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital.
This year’s Unlimited Dance Marathon is March 28 from 12 pm to midnight at the Sports Pavilion. There are 3 ways you can support the event: dance, donate or volunteer.
DANCE: The 12-hour no sitting, no sleeping event is FREE to attend and open to everyone, including all University of Minnesota students, friends and family… The more the merrier! If you would like to register a team or group to dance during the marathon, please click here!
Okay so you’re not a dancer? Not a problem! Everyone is still welcome to attend and have a great time regardless of their dancing skills. The event features a wide variety of performers to keep you entertained including Goldy, Gopher student-athletes, the U of M pep band, student organizations and children of Masonic Children’s Hospital, as well as plenty of great prizes, giveaways and free food.
DONATE: If you can’t make the event, you can still support Unlimited Dance Marathon by easily donating online. If you would like to donate please click here! Leading up to the event, funds are raised throughout the course of the year through various events on campus and through online donations. Currently funds raised help provide beads of courage for the children at the hospital as well as yoga mats. As the fundraising efforts and event continue to grow, the long-term goal is to help fund additional rooms such as playrooms that provide additional programming while children are being treated at the hospital.
Last year Unlimited Dance Marathon raised $29,000 in cash donations and $84,000 in gift-in-kind to benefit the University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital.VOLUNTEER: If you would like to help support the event, plenty of volunteer opportunities are available for the event and throughout the course of the year.
