Exercise Your Heart and Mind
The University of Minnesota Student-Athlete Development Department and the St. Jude Medical Foundation have partnered up to run an exciting programó Exercise Your Heart & Mind. The program provides empowerment and encouragement to youth to stay in science and math courses and fields of studies. This program is targeted at young girls who historically drop out of these areas around junior high. University of Minnesota student-athletes travel to elementary and middle schools in the community conducting science experiments, speaking to the student about the importance of education and what it is like to be a Division I student-athlete.
- To encourage a healthy lifestyle among elementary and junior high school students
- To promote the pursuit of science and math education
- To have Golden Gopher student-athletes sever as role models for a healthy lifestyle while pursuing an education in math and science.
