The defending national champions are proud to announce the 2012-2013 Dance Team. The University of Minnesota Dance Team was selected Sunday April 22, after an intense three days of auditions.

The audition process included performing various styles of dance including jazz and pom, executing elite technical skills and conducting an interview with the coaching staff. Not only did the candidates prove themselves with their dancing ability, but they also impressed the coaching staff with their enthusiasm and drive to be a part of such an amazing dynasty. On the final day, the dancers auditioned with each of their routines and elite skills in front of a panel of 8 alumni judges, leaving them with a tough decision to make.

This year’s team, one of the largest teams in recent history, consists of 19 members. They are proud to say that they have 13 veterans and 6 incoming freshmen.  The team is excited and honored for the upcoming season and everything it has to offer.

We look forward to seeing Gopher Fans at the first home football game September 8^th at TCF Stadium.
