The Golden Gophers’ Student-Athlete Advisory Committee is sponsoring the 1st Annual Cystic Fibrosis Breathe Easy 5K Run on Sunday, Oct. 12. The run, which snakes through the Minnesota East Bank campus, is a fundraiser for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The fun run will kick off on the north side of Coffman Memorial Union at 1 p.m.
Registration forms are available at Bierman Field Athletic Building, the University Recreation Center and the St. Paul Gym. The cost is $15 for pre-registration (checks only) or $20 on race day (checks or cash accepted).
Registration/check in will start at 11 a.m. in front of Coffman Union. Following the race at 1:45pm there will be awards/drawings for prizes. Prizes include gift cards to the local running store, Run N Fun, in St. Paul, and various tickets to Gopher sporting events.
The SAAC is the advisory and leadership committee of the Golden Gopher athletic teams and working directly with Minnesota athletic director Joel Maturi on the various issues that affect student-athletes. Each Gopher team is represented by two student-athletes on the committee.
