Minnesota was awarded one of the 13 at-large team berths into the NCAA Cross Country Championships. The Golden Gophers will be making their third consecutive appearance in the national meet and the program’s 12th in the last 14 years. The 13 at-large teams join the 18 team that earned automatic berths with top-two finishes at the last Saturday’s nine NCAA Region Championships around the country. The NCAA Championships, hosted by Indiana State in Terre Haute, Ind., will be run on Monday, Nov. 23.

The Gophers finished 15th at the 2008 Championships and eighth in 2007. Hassan Mead earned All-America honors in both meets.
