GopMinnesota Senior Andrew McKessock won today's Marathon Sports 5K race at the Les Bolstad Golf Course, finishing with a time of 15:50.9. Nine Golden Gopher runners competed unattached in the event, a local and state amateur open.

McKessock's individual 5K time was good for first place as four Minnesota runners finished in the top-five overall. Freshman Ryan Malmin finished third with a time of 16:15.1. Sophomore Brent Loberg finished fourth with 16:18.4 and Junior Luke Mullranin rounded out the top-five with a time of 16:22.2.

Winning the men's amd women's team portion of the 5K event was Run N Fun. In addition to the 5K race, a 10K men's race was held with Run N Fun also the winning team. Jeremy Polson of Duluth was the 10K individual winner with a time of 32:34.2.
