Minnesota sophomore Hassan Mead earned his first career Big Ten Conference Runner of the Week Award after his runner-up performance at the Roy Griak Invitational last Saturday. Mead clocked a time of 24 minutes, 7.04 seconds to finish second and break a 27-year old record for the fastest time on Minnesota home course at the Les Bolstad Golf Course. The Gophers finished fourth as a team at the Griak and are currently ranked No. 14 in the U.S. Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches Association NCAA Division I Men’s Cross Country Poll.
