Senior All-American Hassan Mead picked up his fifth career Big Ten Runner of the Week Accolade. The Minneapolis, Minn., native finished third at this past weekend's 26^th Roy Griak Invitational, to help his No. 20 Minnesota Golden Gophers to a third place overall finish.

Mead's third place finish was the third time in his Gopher career where he has placed in the top-five at the Griak. He won the Griak in 2009 and finished second in 2008. Mead covered the 8,000-meter course in 23:49.

This is the second time this season that a Gopher has picked up the award. Pieter Gagnon won the award early this month with his performance at the Hornet Jamboree.
