MINNEAPOLIS -- The Minnesota men's cross country program maintained its position in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association regional poll, announced by the group today. The Gophers remain sixth in the Midwest Region following an off weekend.
This week's regional poll remained stagnant in positions 1-6 with Oklahoma State, Tulsa, Missouri and Kansas sitting in front of Minnesota.
The Gophers return to action on Sat., Sept. 28 with the 28th annual Roy Griak Invitational at Les Bolstad Golf Course in Falcon Heights, Minn. Minnesota will honor legendary coach Roy Griak for his 50 years of service to the University of Minnesota at the event. The athletic department will also host a celebration for Griak on Thursday, Sept. 26 at TCF Bank Stadium. Learn more by visiting the Golden Gopher Fund.

Blankenship, Mead Shine in Olympic Finals
Mead and Blankenship recorded the best Olympic finishes by Gophers since Staffan Strand finished sixth in the high jump for Sweden during the 2000 Olympics in Sydney.
Blankenship Punches Ticket to Olympic Final
Ben Blankenship (1,500) and Hassan Mead (5,000) will run in Olympic finals on Saturday night.
