Junior Matt Volz enjoyed his finest performance of his Golden Gopher career placing second in the Oz Memorial Run on Friday at the Les Bolstad Golf Course. Volz ran a time of 19 minutes, 18.94 seconds over course measured at six kilometers.
Minnesota ran only a five-man roster with the Gophers top runners sitting the meet out. The Gophers compiled a score of 77 points to finish fourth among five teams competing. Drake won the title with a score of 39.
Redshirt freshman Drew Paradis place seventh in his first race as a Gopher clocking a time of 19:25.41.
