Minnesota junior Seijen Takamura and freshman Joe McFarland captured medalist honors at the Wisconsin-River Falls Triangular on Friday. The meet was contested in an unusual relay style where the two teammates would alternate running a 1,690-meter course three times for a combined race distance of 10,140 meters or just over six miles. Takamura and McFarland posted a time of 32 minutes, 19 seconds.
The tandem of Mike VanBeusekom and Hans Storvick finished second in 32:26, edging David Krueger and Tim Bruhn (32:27).
