High School: Graduated from Rochester Mayo High School in 2012 • high school coach was Brett Carroll • finished second at the 2012 Minnesota Class AA State Championships - a school record - with a time of 15:39.50, behind current Gophers teammate Josh Thorson • the All-State honoree helped the Spartans earn a state championship bid in 2012 - the first time a Rochester program had done so in more than 20 years and Rochester Mayo's first state championship appearance since 1991 • to earn individual medalist at the 2012 MSHSL Section 1AA Championship with a time of 15:42.24 and the 2012 Big 9 Conference Championship with a time of 15:52.60 • also earned individual titles at the Swain Meet, the Ev Berg Invitational, the All-City Cross Country Invite and the Mayo Invite • competed at the Nike Cross Nationals Heartland Regional and the Foot Locker Midwest Regional • also competed in Nordic skiing and track at Rochester Mayo and won the 2012 Class AA State 1600 Championship.
