2011 Senior Season: Competed in five meets joined the Gophers and their 16th-place finish at the NCAA Championships, running 32:53 raced the Big Ten Championships in 25:19, good for eighth on the team ran the Gophers' eighth-best time (25:34.2) at the Roy Griak Invitational clocked 20:01 at the Hornet Jamboree 4-mile to place 18th overall and eighth for Minnesota
2010 Junior Season: Competed in four races during the season ran at the BYU Autumn 4M Race and finished 26th overall, with a time of 21:34.0 finished 95th overall (25:58.1) at the Roy Griak crossed the line in 3rd place (24:44.4) at the Jim Drews Invite, which was his best finish of the season competed at the Big Ten championships and took 63rd overall with a time of 25:13.9 earned third letter.
2009 Sophomore Season: Competed in five meets traveled as an alternate to NCAA Championships the Gophers' number-five runner (27:06.2), 58th overall, at Big Ten Championships team's second runner (19:18.37), third overall, in Oz Memorial Run varsity letterwinner.
2008 Redshirt Freshman Season: Competed in five meets the Gophers' number-two runner, 22nd overall, at the Jim Drews Invitational with a time of 25:41.8.
2007 Freshman Season: Redshirted the season.
On the Track: Will be a junior in 2011 competes in the mile, 1,500m and 3,000m varsity letterwinner.
High School: A 2007 graduate of Lakeville South High School high school coaches were Jessica Just and Jazz Sommers a five-time all-state honoree in high school cross country/track career placed 17th (16:02.4) and helped team to a sixth-place finish at the 2006 Minnesota Class AA meet placed 24th as a junior and 42nd as a sophomore captured all-state honors as a junior and senior (4:11.85) in the 1,600 meters ran anchor on fourth-place 4x800m relay as a sophomore as team placed second placed 13th in the mile at the 2007 Nike Outdoor Nationals in a time of 4:11.04, the seventh-best time in Minnesota high school history also competed in Nordic skiing an honor student.
Personal: Born Dec. 3, 1988 mechanical engineering major son of Dave and Debbie Hilsen is the oldest of five children with siblings: Nicole, John, Amy and Brock enjoys camping and sailing.
