The start time for the Minnesota Golden Gopher Iowa Hawkeye dual meet at Williams Arena on Friday, Feb. 1 has been moved back to 7:30 p.m., athletics officials have confirmed today. The change was made to alleviate potential traffic congestion around campus due to other on-campus sporting events.
Wrestling fans are encouraged to arrive early to secure the limited amount of parking that will be available that evening.
The Hawkeyes are currently ranked No. 1 in the latest USA Today/InterMat/NWCA Division I Poll, as well as the Dec. 17 W.I.N. Magazine rankings after defeating then-No. 1 Iowa State in a dual meet on Dec. 9. The defending national champion Golden Gophers are currently ranked fourth overall in the NWCA poll and No. 3 according to W.I.N. Magazine. The Gophers have won three straight dual meets and boast a 6-1 overall record.
Minnesota will return to action Dec. 29-30 at the Southern Scuffle tournament in Greensboro, N.C. The Gophers’ next dual action will take place at the National Duals Jan. 12-13 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
