The Big Ten Network has announced their plans to cover most-ever wrestling events throughout the 2013-14 season. With the Big Ten in the hunt for its eighth-straight national championship, the network and sponsor, Cliff Keen Athletic, will cover the sport in the most extensive manner in network history.
An overview of the coverage includes duals between the winners of the past six national titles, Penn State and Iowa as well as complete live coverage of the entire Big Ten Championships hosted by Wisconsin in Madison, Wisc. Forty-eight events will be streamed live on the Big Ten Digital Network.
All of Minnesota's home matches will be available through Gopher All-Access and the Big Ten Digital Network with the exception of the dual between Minnesota and Penn State on Sunday, Feb. 9, at 1 p.m. that will be televised live on the Big Ten Network.
Additionally, the Gophers away conference matches will also be available to be streamed through Gopher All-Access with the exception of the match against Iowa.
Minnesota will be live on the Big Ten Network when they travel to Iowa City to take on the Iowa Hawkeyes. This match will begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 25. This will only be available through BTN.
According to InterMat's rankings, the Big Ten is projected to being the 2013-2014 with three teams leading the nation. The Gophers are ranked No. 3 after No. 1 Penn State and No. 2 Iowa. Big Ten competitors, Wisconsin and Nebraska, also rank in the top ten.
The Gophers will kick off their BTN coverage for the season with their home dual against Wyoming on Nov. 24 at 2:00 p.m.
There is a time-change to one of the Gophers home duals. The Gophers and Indiana will begin their regularly scheduled match at noon, instead of the initially planned 1:00 p.m. start time. More information on this match can be found on the wrestling schedule. All pre brought tickets for this match will be honored at the door.
