MINNEAPOLIS -- In its second dual of the season, the No. 2 University of Minnesota Golden Gopher Wrestling team defeated the Wyoming Cowboys, 41-5. With the win, the Maroon and Gold improve to 2-0 on the season and 1-0 in the Big Ten.

The team was able to claim three major decisions and three pins to claim the victory in front of the home crowd at the Sports Pavilion.

The dual started with a matchup between redshirt freshman Samuel Brancale and No. 6 Tyler Cox. Cox was able to control the entirety of the bout and come away with a technical fall, 18-2. This was the only loss for the Golden Gophers as Brancale fell to 9-3 on the season.

Minnesota was able to win the next 9 duals with a pin each from No. 8 David Thorn, No. 3 Dylan Ness and No. 1 Tony Nelson. Thorn, Schiller and Nelson as well as Storley who was able to win by technical fall over Brent Havlick are still undefeated on the season for the Maroon and Gold.

Brett Pfarr, who was the underdog coming into the bout with No. 16 Benjamin Stroh, was able to step up in a big way and show his potential as he won by major decision, 10-1, over his ranked opponent in the 184 weight class.

The Golden Gophers will travel to Corvallis, Ore. on Saturday, Nov. 30 to take on Oregon State. The dual will begin at 9 p.m. CT.
