Finished overall in his first season with the Gophers with three pins • Won the North Country Open with a 9-8 decision over St. John's Tony Willaert, the No. 1 seed in the tournament • Took second Husky Open with a pair of falls over Brandon Ross of Minnesota State-Mankato, Jordan Arndt of St. Cloud State and added an 11-3 major decision against Logan Johnson of Iowa Central in the semifinals of the 197 lbs. division • Took second at the Kaufman-Board Open • Placed fourth at the Warren Williamson/Daktronics Open at South Dakota State University.

A 2010 graduate of West Fargo Senior High School • Earned three-consecutive North Dakota state titles • Finished his high school career with a 165-27 overall record • Posted a perfect 43-0 record as a senior in route to a state championship at 215-pounds • Ranked No. 4 in the nation in his weight class as a senior • Named North Dakota's Senior Wrestler of the Year in 2010 • Captured the state title as a junior at 189-pounds • Won his first state championship as a sophomore, claiming the title at 171-pounds.
