Went 13-6 in open tournaments during his first season as a Golden Gopher • Recorded three wins by fall and one by a major decision • Finished 3-2 at the Bison Open • Picked up at 9-0 major decision over Josh Douglas of Minot State in Fargo • Went 2-2 at the Finn Grinaker Open including a fall over Hunter Menedez of Mary College at the 2:14 mark • Went 3-0 at the UNI Open • Scored a fall over Graelin Garlington of Minnesota Moorhead at the 2:43 mark • Finished 3-1 at the North Country Open • Scored a fall at the 4:56 mark over Lonny Booshu of Ridgewater • Earned his first varsity letter.
