The Gophers will finish third at the national tournament with 103 team points
The 2012-13 season marked the second year Ben Berhow has worked as an administrative assistant for Gopher Wrestling.
A 2011 graduate of the University of Minnesota, Ben is a three-time NCAA qualifier, which included a 2-2 showing at the 2010 tournament to finish one match shy of becoming an All-American. He placed third, his highest finish during his tenure, at the 2010 Big Ten Tournament. Ben ended his college career with 78 wins, ranking him 47th all-time in Minnesota history.
Ben's efforts didn't go unnoticed. He received the Minnesota Integrity Award as a senior and was awarded the Verne Gagne Scholarship/Leadership Award as a junior. He also took home the Gophers' Chris Berglin Most Improved Wrestler honor for his efforts during his sophomore season.
As a prep wrestler, Ben was ranked as the No. 8 heavyweight athlete in the country according to InterMat. He attended high school at Albert Lea High school where he was a two-time all-state selection and the 2006 Minnesota State Champion at 285 pounds.
